Join us for a Summer Concert featuring The Steeton Male Voice Choir and the Town Hall’s own MTH Community Choir.

Steeton Male Voice Choir have been singing since 1908 (not continuously!) and are one of Yorkshire’s premier Male Voice Choirs. They are making a return visit to Middlesbrough Town Hall after a successful concert with the town’s community choir in 2014. They shall have a choir of 45 men led by their new Musical Director, Catherine Sweet. The choir will perform a mix of male voice standards, show songs,  arrangements of well-known modern songs and some folk standards and are looking forward to several joint numbers with MTH Community Choir.

Led by local international opera singers Emily Smith and Dave Pisaro, the MTH Community Choir is a friendly and accessible group who enjoy singing for fun. The weekly sessions introduce, or extend, good vocal technique through performing a mixture of world and folk, operatic, and musical theatre songs.

Emily and Dave’s warm and encouraging style and expert choral leadership make the choir a great way of making new friends, learning new skills, and making great music.

The group often take part in live performances at events across the region. Past performances have included concerts at the Town Hall, Ripon Cathedral, and Middlesbrough’s Christmas Big Sing.
