Sunday 12th November
Neil Sild, Cello

Neil has been playing the ‘cello since the age of seven and currently studies with Deborah Thorne at Sage Gateshead, where he is also a member of the Young Sinfonia. Neil also plays Trombone and sings, and performed with various groups at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the Schools Proms. He was awarded ‘Young Musician of the Year’ at the new Tees Valley based ‘Shine’ Festival which took place in March 2017.

Sunday 17th December
Singing Sue’s Youth Choir

The Youth Choir are part of Singing Sue’s Vocal Academy based in Billingham. Led by Susan Capes, the academy offers private singing and piano tuition as well as choirs for young people and ladies. The choir will perform a variety of group pieces as well as solos and will undoubtedly get us all into the Christmas Spirit!

Sunday 21st January
William Hartley, Piano

William is from Hartlepool and studies piano and bassoon. He achieved Grade 8 on both instruments in December 2016. He currently studies both instruments at the Sage Gateshead Centre for Advanced Training where he is a member of Young Sinfonia. William is also Principal Bassoonist in the Tees Valley Youth Orchestra.

Sunday 18th February
James and Jeremy Chen, Piano

James (14) and Jeremy (12) both started piano lessons at the age of six with Middlesbrough piano teacher Barbara White. James was awarded the DipABRSM distinction at the age of ten and performed his debut piano concerto with Teesside Symphony Orchestra in April 2016 at age 12.
Jeremy achieved distinction for Grade 8 at the age of 9.
Both boys now study at Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester and both were prize winners at the Chopin International Festival in Warsaw in 2016.

Sunday 18th March
A voice recital with Gabriella Orsi and Anna Dias

Gabriella Orsi is 14 years old and studies at Carmel College in Darlington. She is a member of Tees Valley Youth Choir and regularly performs across the region. She was recently awarded a place on the Samling Academy.

Anna is a 17 year old soprano based in the North East of England. She has performed with Samling Academy for 3 years and is also the Soprano section leader for the Tees Valley Youth Choir. Anna is also honored to have been chosen as the Soprano section leader for the National Youth Choir of Great Britain for 2 years running. Anna has recently received her ARSM singing diploma in performance.

Due to the refurbishment of Middlesbrough Town Hall, this season’s concerts will all be held at:

TP Coffee House, Royal Middlehaven House, Gosford Street, Middlesbrough, TS2 1BB.

Doors open at 2.15pm, with the concert running from 3pm – 4pm.
