Mini Music Makers

We think music should be enjoyed from the earliest possible age – not only is it a lot of fun, it can also support your child’s development in a variety of other areas. Win win!

Join us each week for 45 minutes of singing, instruments, play and fun through music, led by a musician experienced in early years music education.

Ukelele Group

If you’ve never thought about playing the ukulele then think again – it’s a really fun and surprisingly simple instrument to learn.

In this weekly session you’ll learn the basics of the ukulele and play fun yet easy to learn songs as a group.

The session is led by musician Brian Grantham who will support you to take your first steps to becoming a ukulele-ist. If you want to show off your new skills (and why wouldn’t you?) there will also be opportunities.

Steel Pan Fridays

Come along and try Caribbean Steel Pan for free!

You will have the opportunity to learn and perform some fun Caribbean songs on a unique instrument, the Steel Pan.

You don’t need to attend all sessions: come to just one, or as many as you like!

No previous experience or musical knowledge necessary – complete beginners welcome.

Capacity per workshop: 6

MTH Performing Arts

MTH Performing Arts develops skills in acting, voice work, singing and movement. Learn new techniques, get a confidence boost and meet people who are interested in the same things that you are.

Classes are led in a fun and fast-paced environment, with students expected to work hard and do the best they can.

Students can put their practise to good use in parades, showcases and our own wonderful summer shows.

Our tutors have a wide variety of training, including Central School of Speech and Drama along with teachers who work professionally throughout the North East. All tutors are DBS checked.

If you haven’t been to a class before, you can try before you buy: claim your free taster session by contacting the box office.

Sessions are young people centred, tell us what you would like to do!

Tutors are all professional musicians and are trained to work with all ages and abilities in this fully inclusive music group.

We also offer regular performance opportunities and also the opportunity to work towards graded music exams if desired.
