Music CPD Opportunity: Exploring the voice and group-singing

Wednesday 20 November 2019

MUSIC CPD Opportunity: Exploring the voice and group-singing opportunities for all (repertoire and practice-sharing session) with Beccy Owen.
1pm – 4pm
Free; booking required

Beccy Owen is a Welsh born, Whitley Bay-based songwriter, composer and facilitator of national critical acclaim. She has twenty years experience as a professional singer-songwriter and community music leader, and in 2016 she founded the nationwide phenomenon of ‘Beccy Owen’s Pop-Up Choirs’ (www.popupchoirs.com) an inclusive, joyful group-singing experience for all.

In this CPD session Beccy will work with you to explore various approaches to group singing and best practice for leading choirs. You’ll learn a range of accessible warm-ups and singable repertoire from across genres and cultures, and will feel renewed and empowered in your own voice and practice as a song leader, which in turn will boost the confidence of your singers.

The session is aimed at those working with KS3/4 young people in educational settings, and/or adults within community settings.
