Animex Screen 2020 presents: BAA Public Choice & Animex Awards

Tuesday 29 September 2020 - Tuesday 20 October 2020

Animex Screen presents an exciting programme of animation film screenings including the British Animation Awards Public Choice programmes and Animex Awards Animated Shorts.

All film details: animex.tees.ac.uk/screen.cfm

The three BAA Public Choice programmes consist of a selection of outstanding short films and music videos from the entries to the British Animation Awards 2020. The programmes are screened at a number of venues throughout the UK. Audiences will be able to vote and rank their favourites in each screening. The short film and music video with the highest overall rating receives the coveted ‘Public Choice Award’ at the BAA ceremony on March 12th 2020 at the BFI South Bank, London.

Animex Awards is an international competition for student animations, bringing you some of the best from across the globe. The Animated Shorts programmes consist of a selection from the international entries to this year’s competition categories, judged by industry professionals and an Audience Awards where the audience votes for their most popular film. The award winning films will be announced on 10 May 2020, the eve of the Animex Festival 11-15 May 2020, one of the largest festivals dedicated to animation and computer games in the UK.

In light of the government’s announcement on Monday 16th March about avoiding non-essential social contact, Middlesbrough Town Hall & Middlesbrough Theatre will be closed to the public until further notice. We will be constantly reviewing our closure period, taking advice from government guidelines. The decision to close has been made with the best interest of our customers, visitors & performers.

We are working with promoters and organisers to reschedule events where possible and all existing ticket-holders will be offered to transfer their tickets to the new date or if they are unable to attend then full refunds will be issued.

Our Box Office team will be in touch during the proceeding days with further details & will be contacting all customers on a show-by-show basis.

During the time of closure, Middlesbrough Town Hall & Middlesbrough Theatre Box Offices will remain open for phone & email enquiries only, they will not be accessible to members of the public.

As you can appreciate our team will be receiving a high volume of calls & emails, so please bear with us during this busy and challenging time.

Thank you for your patience & understanding,
