 A Midsummer Night’s Dream

A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Mon 1 August 2022 - Wed 3 August 2022

Met we on hill, in dale, forest or mead. By paved fountain or at Middlesbrough Town Hall.

Enjoy Shakespeare’s famed tale of love, magic and trickery, with a difference!

Held in the beautiful surrounds of the Town Hall’s courtyard, this outdoor production transports the original script of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, to 1940’s wartime Middlesbrough.

It’s Hermia, Puck, Oberon and Nick Bottom like you’ve never seen them before; pin curls, trouser suits and all.

In Shakespeare’s most popular comedy, four young lovers find themselves in an enchanted forest, where a feuding Fairy King and Queen are at war. Chief mischief-maker Puck is on hand to ensure that the course of true love is anything but smooth, and fantastical games ensue!

This production is part of The Bard of Boro Town Hall project, designed to champion the local theatre sector by creating opportunities and exposure for those hobbyists to local professionals. Run in partnership with Less is MORE productions.

Please Note: Our Carriageway Bar will be open for drinks & snacks. We ask you please to not bring your own refreshments to the Venue.
